Sunday, February 3, 2008 - Caching

Well, making plans to go caching with my sister, Dobecountry, tomorrow. Guess we are going to hit one of the state parks that I have never been to before. Looks like they have quite a few in that park. Will update on what we find!

Okay. Had a few hour hike and eight caches to find. We found seven and we didn't notice, but the eighth obviously was missing by all the DNF's that were logged. Here's what we found:

1. Sesqui Tunnel - Missing
2. A Modest Proposal - Found
3. Sesqui Four - Found
4. Camp Mudstow's Escape - Found
5. Park 150 Once Removed - Found
6. Sesqui Magnolia - Found
7. Sesqui - Found
8. Sesqui 5 - Found

Number 8 was a mult-cache and we had the final coords figured out before we got there since one of the two caches were missing that had the clues in them.
Number 6 was soaked full of water, so we empty the water out, took the soaked trashy swag out and dried the other swag and put it in a dry plastic bag, replaced log in a dry plastic bag and then we didn't have a bag big enough for the tupperware, so we took a dog poopie bag and draped it over the top before we put the lid on it. Hey, it worked!

We found two coins to send on their way, so I took one and DobeCountry took the other. There were streams and little waterfalls everywhere that was really nice. Took some pics and will have to upload them later. This is a really nice park and they even had a doggie play park and a lake you can swim in, in the summer. It was a really nice day caching and the weather was just perfect, not the normal cold winter weather.

Now, to decide if I go caching in two days when the weather is supposed to be 75 degrees. Sure is tempting!

Okay. Just a little update from this caching adventure. Last night, I get this pain on the top of my left boob. So I go and look to see what's going on and there is something on there, so I pull it off. I thought it was something from my sweater, but nooooo .... after I pulled it off, I realized it's a TICK. Needless to say, the head didn't come out with the rest of its body. So what do I do? Naturally, I go into the bathroom with my sterilized needle, tweezers, alcohol, prop my butt up on the counter, grab my glasses, and start digging in my boob to get that head out. I finally think I got it out, but am sooo glad that it wasn't underneath the boob where they normally like to burrow or how would I be able to see to operate. My boob is an ugly sight today, but at least that little booger's head is out of my boob and it's not hurting today. So, no matter how cold it's been, after walking in the woods, always check your boobs for ticks. At least that's my motto!

Caching has so many dangers...and ticks on your boob is probably one of the top ten hazards of caching in the park. Of course, if you're caching in the city you have to worry about crack pipes!

Really nice park, great day of caching and hanging with my sister, and got a good workout with all that walking!
